Deliberate Growth Model

Your Change Journey

Eli uses an easy-to-use system to help people grow. We examine behavior relating to one of three functions: Expression, Levelheadedness, and Insight. Each function includes five smaller behavior clusters that show how you act and respond.  This helps Eli figure out your unique Eli Profile and the behaviors that can lead to growth. The functional behavior domains include:


  • Expression (E) is how you show up and how others experience you. It includes how you talk, listen, and use body language.  Behavior change for Expression is done through SPEAK and it helps build Connection.


  • Levelheadedness (L) is about staying calm and steady, especially when things get tough, by keeping your cool and staying focused. Behavior change for Levelheadedness is done through STILL and it builds Calm.


  • Insight (I) is your ability to notice patterns, understand what they mean, and take thoughtful action. Behavior change for Insight is through SMART and it builds Clarity.


How Our Deliberate Growth Model Works

Grounded in change theory and personality models, Eli's change journey focuses on concrete behaviors. This means growth can be achieved by becoming more proficient in a specific, deliberate behavior. This is how Change for Good happens.

Subdomain Behavior Clusters

Under each domain are specific behavior clusters or behaviors that have clear expectations. This allows the Eli tool to quantify proficiency in the functional behavior domains. These serve as behavior change models. The behavior change models include:


SPEAK for Expression

Sincerity – Being honest and consistently trustworthy.

Precision – Delivers messaging clearly and to the point. 

Empathy & Active Listening – Seeking to understand facts and feelings. 

Adaptability – Adjusting approach based on situation. 

Kinesics – Using and reading non-verbal messages.

STILL for Levelheadedness

Self-Management – Knowing how you feel while staying focused.

Thoughtfulness – Thinking things through before acting.

Integrity – Sticking to values and being accountable to them. 

Leveled Grit – Adjusting goal energy and effort-levels.

Learnability – Being open to learning and new knowledge.

SMART for Insight

Sense Making – Seeking knowledge and spoting patterns. 

Mean Making – Finding purpose in what's seen and underlying meaning.

Acting on Results – Turning informed-decisions into action.

Reality-Testing – Checking assumptions and discerning accuracy.

Teaching – Sharing what you know with others to grow.
